What happens when you go through clearing?

Clearing is how units and universities fill the places they still have in their courses. From July 5 to October 18, you can apply for a course with Clearing if you don't have an offer from a university or institute yet, and the course still has places. It is most often used by those who do not have the necessary qualifications to secure their place, those who applied later, who did not receive offers or who do not want to take the place they have been offered. Compensation is part of the UCAS application process.

Clearing is an opportunity for you to find a place at the university. When Clearing opens, universities will publish a list of courses that still have places available. You'll find them in our search for Clearing courses.
